Saturday Afternoon Wrap: Marlboro Keeps the Trophy, New Paltz Breaks Through, Pawling Stays Perfect

Marlboro keeps the Black and Blue Bowl 14–7, New Paltz wins 34–22, and Pawling stays unbeaten 40–12. Saturday’s afternoon results and standouts.

Three afternoon games are final, and Saturday night is next. Marlboro kept the Black and Blue Bowl, New Paltz earned its first win of the season, and Pawling remained unbeaten.

Marlboro 14, Highland 7

Shawn DeLaigle scored both Marlboro touchdowns as the Dukes kept the rivalry trophy. Highland led 7–6 at halftime, but DeLaigle’s second rushing touchdown—from the wildcat with 6:43 left in the third quarter—put Marlboro back in front. The Dukes finished the possession ahead 14–7 and held that lead through the final whistle.

Marlboro forced four turnovers, all interceptions. Shawn DeLaigle added two picks to his two rushing touchdowns, Bruce Laboy intercepted one pass, and Dylan McKenzie (#25) accounted for the fourth.
