The playoff picture, made simple

Playoff record counts the games that decide a team’s playoff spot. All games is its full season record. Only final results change either record.

ClinchedA playoff place is secured, regardless of remaining results. Seed and home field can still change.
In todayThe team is in a playoff position right now, but has not secured its place yet.
Chasing / Tied at cutoffOutside today’s field, or tied across the last spot. Still competing unless marked eliminated.

Already in: Chester Academy · John S. Burke Catholic · Highland · Dover · James I. O’Neill · Sullivan West · Tri-Valley · Eldred · Ellenville · Pawling · Millbrook · Our Lady of Lourdes · Beacon · Saugerties · Port Jervis · Marlboro · Middletown · Pine Bush · Valley Central · Warwick · Washingtonville · Cornwall · Newburgh Free Academy.

What this weekend can clinch

Only mathematically live teams are shown. A win-to-clinch line means the spot is guaranteed after the listed results—not just a better place today.

No guaranteed win-to-clinch result is confirmed for the remaining games this weekend. Wins can still improve playoff position.

How many teams get in?

AA: top 4 of 6A: top 2 in each divisionB: top 4 of 7C: top 3 of 5D: both teams8-Man: top 3 in each division

Which games count? AA, B, C and D count games against teams in their own class. Class A and 8-Man count games within their own division. Other games still count toward the full season record.

How can a 4–1 team show 0–0 here? It has not played a division game yet. A win outside the division improves the full season record without changing the division playoff record.

Updated through 2026-10-31. Current places below answer “who would be in if the season ended today?” Final seeds are still to be decided.

How we check a clinch

We check every remaining win/loss combination, head-to-head results and the possible loss margins under the 21-point cap. If future scoring margins or a Section IX decision could still change a tied team’s place, we do not mark its spot clinched. KOT845 projections and Power 40 are not used to guarantee qualification. Official eligibility remains subject to Section IX.
