Friday’s Week 8 slate delivered 13 played finals, settled the Class A field and sent Eldred through an eight-man quarterfinal. All Friday results are recorded below; Port Jervis’s forfeit win is listed separately.

Middletown closes 9–0 with a shutout at Kingston

The Middies needed just 16 seconds to get on the board, then finished the night with a 31–0 win at Kingston. Middletown led 13–0 at halftime, pushed the margin to 25–0 in the third quarter and completed the shutout to reach 9–0.

Middletown enters the Class AA playoffs as the No. 1 seed. Kingston finishes the regular season 2–7.

Warwick wins the game it had to have

Warwick beat Minisink Valley 27–7 on the road to take Division 1’s second Class A playoff spot. The Wildcats led 20–7 with 5:23 remaining and added to that advantage before the final.

The overall records tell only part of this race: Warwick finishes 2–7, but its qualifying results put the Wildcats into the postseason. Minisink Valley finishes 3–6 and is eliminated.

Washingtonville had already secured Division 1’s top seed. The Wizards closed their regular season with a 38–0 win over FDR, finishing 8–1.

Cornwall and Lourdes settle Division 2

Lourdes led Wallkill 41–0 at the break and finished with a 44–24 victory. The Warriors reach 7–2 and secure the division’s second playoff spot.

With both finals recorded, Cornwall and Lourdes are in; Goshen and Wallkill are eliminated. Goshen finishes 6–3, while Wallkill finishes 3–6.

Highland answers in 31 seconds

Spackenkill took a 29–28 lead with 3:37 left. By 3:06, Highland was back in front, 36–29. That was the final score.

The Huskies finish 7–2 and enter the Class C postseason as the No. 1 seed. Spackenkill finishes 3–6.

O’Neill also closed with a win, beating Chester 21–16. The Raiders finish 6–3 and hold Class C’s No. 2 seed, with Dover third. Chester remains Class D’s No. 2 qualifier behind Burke.

Newburgh and Beacon finish with road shutouts

Newburgh took a 21–0 halftime lead at Valley Central and finished with a 27–0 win. The Goldbacks reach 7–2 and hold Class AA’s No. 2 seed. Valley Central finishes 5–4 and remains playoff-bound; its seed is still unsettled entering Saturday.

Beacon turned a 30–0 halftime lead at Liberty into a 51–0 final. The Bulldogs finish 8–1 and hold Class B’s No. 2 seed behind Port Jervis.

Eldred advances; Rondout and Red Hook close with wins

Eldred beat Tri-Valley 14–6 in an eight-man quarterfinal, advancing to the semifinals at 6–2. Tri-Valley finishes 4–4.

Rondout Valley beat Monticello 32–6 to finish 4–5. Red Hook won 47–14 at Cohoes and stands 4–5. Cohoes replaced the Poughkeepsie fixture, so no additional forfeit win counts. Corinth/Hadley-Luzerne beat Pine Plains/Rhinebeck 51–14; the Bombers finish 3–5.
