Burke Catholic enters October with one of the loudest score profiles in Section IX.
The Eagles are 4–0. Because one of those wins came by official forfeit, KOT845 separates the record from the on-field scoring averages. Across Burke’s three played games, the Eagles are averaging 54.3 points and allowing 4.0.
Saturday brings Poughkeepsie to Burke Catholic for a 1:00 PM kickoff.
Burke has controlled all three games it has played
Burke opened with a 55–0 win over Monticello, beat Liberty 56–6 and then went to Highland last Friday and won 52–6.
The Week 2 game against James I. O’Neill was recorded as a Burke forfeit win, so it counts in the 4–0 record but not in the played-game scoring averages.
Week 3 changed the conversation
Highland entered last Friday unbeaten. Burke left with a 46-point win.
That result moved the Eagles to No. 1 on KOT845’s two-team Class D board, ahead of Chester after the Hambletonians lost a one-score game to Dover. The ranking is a reward for what Burke has done on the field, not a championship already won. Week 4 brings a different test: handling a lopsided statement win, resetting, and taking care of the next game without letting the previous result become the story.
Poughkeepsie comes in looking for a reset
Poughkeepsie is 0–4. The Pioneers’ Week 3 game against O’Neill was recorded as a forfeit loss, and their previous two played results were 0–41 at Wallkill and 0–40 against Highland.
KOT845 does not currently have a previous Burke–Poughkeepsie score indexed. That does not mean the programs have never met; it means no earlier score is currently preserved in the available database.
