Dover Is 3-0. Highland Is 3-1. Class C Gets Its First Major Separation Game.

Dover brings a 3-0 record and the No. 1 Class C ranking to Highland Friday night. The Huskies are 3-1 and ranked No. 2 in the class.

HIGHLAND — Class C has reached its first real separation game of the 2026 season.

Dover is 3-0.

Highland is 3-1.

And Friday night puts the top two teams in the current KOT845 Class C rankings on the same field.

Dover travels to Highland for a 7:00 PM kickoff with a chance to strengthen its grip on the top spot in the class. Highland gets the opportunity to answer immediately after suffering its first loss of the season.

Dover has not lost yet

Dover enters Week 4 as one of the remaining unbeaten teams in Section IX.

The Dragons are currently #1 in the KOT845 Class C rankings and #18 in the Power 40.

Last week gave Dover one of its most significant tests so far. The Dragons went into a rematch with Chester and came away with an 18-13 victory.

That result kept the unbeaten start intact and gave Dover another reason to be taken seriously inside the Class C race.

Friday brings a different kind of test.

This time, Dover has to go through the team sitting directly behind it in the class.

Highland gets an immediate response opportunity

Highland opened the season 3-0 before running into Burke Catholic last week.

The result was decisive: Burke won 52-6.

Now Highland does not have to wait long for a chance to change the conversation.

The Huskies remain #2 in Class C and #21 in the Power 40, and a win Friday would immediately reshape the top of the classification.

That makes this more than a bounce-back game.

It is a direct test of where Highland belongs in the Class C order.

The Class C race is already tightening

Behind Dover and Highland sit O’Neill, Rondout Valley and Spackenkill.

That means there is not much room for anyone at the top to drift.

O’Neill and Rondout also meet Friday night, creating the possibility that the Class C board looks very different by the end of the evening.

Dover can create separation.

Highland can erase most of it.

And the teams behind them have their own opportunity to move.

Friday’s setup

Dover at Highland
Friday, October 2
7:00 PM

The records are strong. The class positioning is clear. And for the first time this season, Class C gets a game that can directly separate the top of the board.
