UNDEFEATED: Pawling Finishes 7–0, Enters Section IX 8-Man Playoffs With a Bye

Pawling completed a perfect 7–0 regular season with a 44–8 victory over Millbrook/Webutuck, winning every game by at least 24 points and entering the Section IX 8-Man postseason with a bye.

PAWLING, N.Y. — Seven games. Seven wins. No close calls. Pawling completed an undefeated 2026 regular season Saturday, October 24, with a 44–8 victory over Millbrook/Webutuck and heads into the Section IX 8-Man postseason at 7–0.

Across those seven games, the Tigers scored 306 points and allowed 84, a plus-222 scoring margin. Every victory came by at least 24 points. The final margin against Millbrook/Webutuck was 36 points.

How Pawling Got to 7–0

  • September 10: Pawling 30, Eldred 6
  • September 18: Pawling 46, Sullivan West 14
  • September 26: Pawling 42, Corinth/Hadley-Luzerne 16
  • October 2: Pawling 62, Pine Plains/Rhinebeck 20
  • October 10: Pawling 40, Onteora 12
  • October 16: Pawling 42, Ellenville 8
  • October 24: Pawling 44, Millbrook/Webutuck 8

Those results make the Tigers’ average winning margin more than 31 points. Their 62-point outing against Pine Plains/Rhinebeck is also a major scoring performance, although it should not be described as an all-time program record without additional source review.

The Historical Context

This is not Pawling’s first undefeated season. The program went 5–0 during the spring 2021 season and won the Section IX 8-Man championship. The 2026 run deserves recognition on its own terms: a completed seven-game unbeaten regular season, sustained offensive production and seven decisive wins.

KOT845’s Section IX Football History archive includes some incomplete earlier seasons. For that reason, the current seven-game margin-of-victory streak is a known-archive historical candidate, not a certified all-time school record. Earlier undefeated regular seasons and comparable dominant runs are being reconciled.

Now the Postseason

Pawling has earned a bye in the Section IX 8-Man playoff field. The Tigers enter the postseason with an undefeated record, but the objective now shifts from finishing the regular season without a loss to winning another sectional title.

Archive note: KOT845’s game records and MaxPreps list the October 24 Millbrook/Webutuck result as 44–8; a separate regional scoreboard lists 44–6. The final score and season points-allowed total should be reconciled against the official scorebook if a correction is necessary.
