Friday final update: All 11 played games are final. Middletown beat Monroe-Woodbury 50–12, Burke Catholic stayed unbeaten with a 35–14 win at Spackenkill, and Rondout Valley held Chester at the 1-yard line to win 14–8. Ellenville received a forfeit win with no on-field score. Read the full Friday wrap and final board →
Schedule update: Poughkeepsie has forfeited its Week 7 game against Beacon. The Bulldogs receive the win and move to 7–1; Poughkeepsie is 0–8. That game will not be played Saturday, and no on-field score is recorded.
Middletown and Burke put unbeaten records on the line
Middletown (7–0) comes off a 33–22 win over Newburgh. Monroe-Woodbury (1–6) arrives with a different kind of urgency: the Crusaders are still part of the Class AA qualifying race. Middletown has secured a playoff place in KOT845’s calculation, but the remaining AA games still matter to seeding.
Burke Catholic (7–0) visits Spackenkill (3–4). The Eagles beat Rondout Valley 35–8 last week. Spackenkill scored 42 against Poughkeepsie and now faces an unbeaten opponent. Coach I is taking Middletown and Burke.
Three Class A games tonight
Cornwall (4–3) travels to Wallkill (3–4) after surviving Lourdes 43–41. The Dragons’ offense delivered in that finish; tonight is a chance for the defense to help avoid another game decided by the final possession.
Washingtonville (6–1) visits Warwick (1–6), which earned its first win with a 26–0 shutout of FDR. FDR (2–5) heads to Minisink Valley (2–5). With two playoff places available in each Class A division, these division results carry more weight than the overall records alone suggest. Lourdes–Goshen follows Saturday night.
Also on the Friday slate
Newburgh (5–2) hosts Kingston (2–5) in the other AA game. Port Jervis (5–2), coming off its win over Beacon, hosts Liberty (0–7). Marlboro (4–2) welcomes New Paltz (1–6), while Chester and Rondout Valley meet with matching 2–5 records.
In eight-man football, Onteora (3–3) visits Pine Plains/Rhinebeck (2–4) in a Division 2 matchup. Sullivan West (5–1) hosts Rockland Central (1–5). Ellenville (3–4) travels outside the section to Hoosic Valley Central.
