O’Neill moved to 3–0 in Class C with a 20–0 win over Dover on Thursday. Saugerties shut out Monticello 35–0, and Millbrook/Webutuck beat Pine Plains/Rhinebeck 16–6.
Three games are finished before Friday’s 10-game slate begins. Here is what Thursday changed.
O’Neill 20, Dover 0
O’Neill supplied the clearest answer of the night in a game that looked like one of Week 6’s toughest calls. The Raiders shut out Dover, improved to 5–2 overall and kept their Class C record perfect at 3–0.
Dover is 4–2 overall and finishes its four-game Class C schedule at 2–2. Both teams had already secured playoff places before kickoff. Thursday changed their position in the seeding race, not whether either team gets to play in the postseason.
O’Neill still has Highland ahead. The top seed’s semifinal bye remains the prize to watch; this result alone should not be mistaken for an official final bracket.
Saugerties 35, Monticello 0
Saugerties got the response it needed after its loss to Beacon. The Sawyers’ shutout brings them back to 3–3 and stops Monticello’s two-game winning streak.
The Panthers fall to 2–5. Their wins over Liberty and Poughkeepsie remain progress, but Thursday showed how much work remains against this level of opponent.
This was an overall-record result for Saugerties. Monticello is independent, so the Sawyers remain 2–2 in Class B.
