2002–2005 Football

Four seasons that culminated in Section IX’s first Class AA state championship.

2002

Champions: Newburgh (AA), Rondout Valley (A), New Paltz (B), Liberty (C), Livingston Manor (D). Newburgh reached the state semifinal.

2003

Champions: Newburgh (AA), Cornwall (A), O’Neill (B), Tri-Valley (C), Chester (D). Each Section IX champion was eliminated in its first state-round appearance.

2004

Champions: Monroe-Woodbury (AA), Wallkill (A), Sullivan West (B), Tri-Valley (C), Chester (D). Wallkill reached the Class A state final; Monroe-Woodbury reached the AA semifinal.

2005

Champions: Monroe-Woodbury (AA), Cornwall (A), Burke Catholic (B), Sullivan West (C), Eldred (D). Monroe-Woodbury beat Webster Thomas 32–10 to win the Class AA state championship.
